Today’s featured repair is replacement of the ECU (Engine Control Unit- Computer) on a 1988 Porsche 928 S4.

The car would not start due to the fuel pump not switching on and after a lengthy, detailed and thorough diagnosis, testing all related wiring circuits we found the ECU had an internal fault.

Due to the rarity of this car and the expense of Porsche dealer parts we send this ECU off to a specialty rebuilder: the part cost less than half of the dealer’s price, came with a longer warranty and was quicker to get.

This is a beautiful and uniquely designed car, but like all Porsches, be prepared to spend a lot of money to keep it going.
