Richmond is a coastal city located on Lulu Island, it lies where the Fraser River meets the Pacific Ocean and is part of Metro Vancouver. The neighbouring communities are Vancouver and Burnaby to the north, New Westminster to the east, and Delta to the south, The Strait of Georgia forms its western border. The dyke perimeter trails are frequently used for biking and walking, offering scenic views of the north shore mountains and natural areas which are perfect for a variety of birds and other wildlife. Richmond is a diverse urban centre with a blend of residential, commercial, industrial, natural areas and waterways and agricultural lands. Steveston historic fishing village has a rich history for the west coast fishing industry and is a vibrant community with shops, restaurants and coffee houses. Visit the national sites of the area; Steveston Museum, Britannia Heritage Shipyard Park, Murakami House and the Gulf of Georgia Cannery or take a boat tour for whale watching. Steveston is frequently used as a filming location for television series and movies, most recent is Once Upon A Time tv series. Other attractions include London Farm, Finn Slough, the Buddhist Temple and lots of fresh fruit and vegetable markets along Steveston Hwy.
