City of Richmond Details:

Burkeville is a small neighbourhood which was constructed in 1941, it consists of 300 plus homes and is located on Sea Island near the Vancouver International Airport. Burkeville has narrow curved streets follow the land and bear the names of many airplane manufacturers. During the war, it served to provide housing for workers employed at Boeing Aircraft and was named after its then president, Stanley Burke. After the war, the houses were sold to returning veterans. It is the only residential area on Sea Island and not much has changed for this small gardening community, however Sea Island as a whole has grown immensely over the decades with the expansion of the Vancouver Airport, additions to the Canada Line and BCIT Aerospace Technology Campus and a 97 store designer outlet mall.
