Dodge has made trucks for many years but they always played a distant 3rd to Ford & GM until the 1980's.
That’s when they brilliantly began offering the Cummins Turbo Diesel as an option. From there they elevated to rock-star status in the pickup truck world. Truthfully though, their trucks and vans have always been reliable and their “B” series vans sold very well until they were discontinued and replaced by the Sprinter Van. The Sprinter is a fabulous van and very useful due to its unique size and shape.
There is really nothing bad that I can say about Dodge trucks. Reliable transportation that may lag a bit in comfort or fit and finish, but the brute torque and reliability of the Cummins Turbo Diesel is justifiably famous.
